Krishnamurti was seriously a prophet. It's sad that someone like him should be a world leader but him being a world leader goes against his entire message. On a side note, he's making me want to quit my job, become homeless, and drop out of society which I'm not ready for hahaTags : Think on These Things [Jiddu Krishnamurti] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. ‘The material contained in this volume was originally presented in the form of talks to students,Jiddu Krishnamurti,Think on These Things,HarperOne,0060916095,General,Conduct of life,Conduct of life.,Eastern - General,Ethics & Moral Philosophy,General Adult,Mind, Body, Spirit: thought & practice,Non-Fiction,Philosophy,PhilosophyEthics & Moral Philosophy,RELIGION Eastern,RELIGION General,Religion,Religion & beliefs,ReligionEthics,Religion: general

What kind of education can bring about a new revolution in the way we live? Freedom from action and reaction.... war and violence...... only in seeking that which is true will bring about a transformation. All mind patterns must be dropped. This is a great book to get started on the Krishnamurti message to the world.
This book is a collection of talks given by J. Krishnamurti to a group of school children and teachers. He talks about different things like Education, love, freedom, etc.
Personally this was a life changing book for me. This was not another book which told you what to do, but tells you 'Just see yourself'. The first time I read this book, I found it too intellectual and I thought Krishnamurti was a very negetive guy. Sadly, at that time I was too caught up in my own beleif system and was not ready for reality.
This book is not really a book. It is a mirror where you can see yourself. It makes you question everything including the way we look at life, the way we interact with people. Each talk is followed by a series of questions put forward by children like "Why do we feel shy?" , "What is jealousy?" etc. Krishnamurti's words are totally unbiased and honest. He is like a surgeon. A surgeon cuts throught the patient with a sharp knife! His objective is not to hurt the patient, but to remove the ulcer from him. His objective is to let us see ourself, and make us live a life in which their heart, mind and action are in harmony and not in conflict.
The other book of krishnamurti that I would recommend is "The awakening of Intelligence". It covers everythign that this one doesn't and is meant for really serious people. You don't need any other book after that.
We are using this in a family dialogue settting with our kids (aged 13 years). The talks are from K’s dialogues with the students of Rishi Valley school in India. This is pitched at just the right level for them. We are making some amazing progress.
As someone who is an avid reader in religion and business, this book really challenged my thinking. My three favorite ideas are (1) ambition as an societal attribute (2) being religious as one who thinks for himself, is in search for truth and God (3) how education is about more than just ones livelihood rather it is about all of life, religion, the heart and love. A must read for all teachers and educators.
This book contains main Krishnamurti's philosophy, it can be repetitive though. Nevertheless all ideas expressed here are really impressive. Dare to read it, it may change some of your ideas or concepts that you have of religion and life in general. It is a really awesome book.
The words of Krishnamurti echo a simple and cleanly logical way to face the human condition. I read all his writings over 20 years ago and I am re-reading them now. Seekers of every kind and existential skeptics will all benefit from his simple teachings.
Krishnamurti takes everyday concepts and explores their deeper meanings, showing us how shallow and programmed that we actually think about things. The book is about the search for truth and it cannot be given to you by another human (politics, culture, religion, parents, etc). Everyone must have the courage and patience to make this journey on their own, not to follow someone else's truth. Everyone already comes equipped for this journey which is about being--not becoming. Everything we seek will automatically emerge when we are guided inwardly and find out what is real instead of what society tells us is real or right. This book will plunge you into introspective reflections of yourself and your relationship with the world which is mirror of what is going on inside of you. No mumbo-jumbo or mystical nonsense, just epiphanies that will shake your world.
Krishnamurti was seriously a prophet. It's sad that someone like him should be a world leader but him being a world leader goes against his entire message. On a side note, he's making me want to quit my job, become homeless, and drop out of society which I'm not ready for haha
